During my summer before graduation, I had the privilege of an apprenticeship with the up-and-coming brand La Petite Salope, founded by Nicola Helgesen. This experience deepened my understanding of draping, patterning, and sample development. I was directly involved in the overall design process from inspiration to sample development of several garments that showcased the brand's evolving aesthetic, helping create patterns for a seamless fit and emphasizing craftsmanship. I worked on constructing several cocktail dresses, exploring draping techniques, and how their internal workings coincide for an elegant silhouette. This apprenticeship honed my technical skills and reinforced my passion for fashion design, influencing my future career in the industry.
